- Duties and Responsibilities. The Radiation Safety Officer will:
- Serve as the commander's principal advisor on radiation safety matters
- Ensure compliance with Army radiation safety regulations
- Maintain accountability of all radiation-emitting items
- Conduct radiation safety inspections and surveys
- Maintain radiation exposure records for personnel
- Ensure proper storage and handling of radioactive materials
- Coordinate radiation safety training for personnel
- Report radiation incidents IAW established procedures
- Maintain required licenses and permits for radioactive materials
- Coordinate with installation RSO and higher headquarters
- Qualifications. Must have completed Radiation Safety Officer training and certification.
